Welcome to the Snusfri community. This is a space for people working to quit
snus, nicotine pouches, cigarettes, or alcohol — and to support one another
along the way. Recovery is hard, and no one should have to do it alone. These
guidelines exist to keep this a safe, kind, and encouraging place
for everyone.
By posting, commenting, reacting, or sharing in the Snusfri community, you agree
to follow these guidelines. They apply to everything you share with other members.
The spirit of this community
Behind every username is a real person trying to change their life. Treat each
other with patience and respect. Celebrate the wins, big and small. Be honest
about the hard days. A little encouragement can make all the difference to
someone who is struggling.
Be kind and supportive
This community works best when we look out for one another. Please:
Be encouraging. Cheer people on. A streak of one day deserves the same warmth as a streak of one year.
Be respectful. Disagree gently. We all come from different backgrounds, countries, and situations.
Share honestly, not perfectly. Setbacks are part of recovery. It's okay to talk about cravings, slip-ups, and difficult moments.
Lift others up. If you see someone having a hard day, a few kind words can mean a lot.
Keep advice friendly, not preachy. Share what worked for you, but remember everyone's path is their own.
Snusfri is a peer-support and motivation app. It is not medical treatment or
professional advice. Nothing shared in the community should replace guidance from
a qualified health professional.
What is not allowed
To keep this space safe, the following are not permitted anywhere in the Snusfri
community. Content that breaks these rules may be removed, and accounts that break
them may be suspended or banned.
Harassment and bullying. No targeting, intimidating, demeaning, or repeatedly bothering another member.
Hate and discrimination. No attacks or slurs based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or any other protected characteristic.
Threats and violence. No threats of harm toward anyone, and no encouraging others to harm people.
Spam and self-promotion. No repetitive, off-topic, or junk content.
Advertising and selling. No promoting, advertising, or selling products or services — and absolutely no selling, promoting, or sourcing of nicotine, tobacco, alcohol, or other addictive substances.
Sharing others' personal information. No posting anyone's real name, address, phone number, photos, or other private details without their clear consent.
Graphic or harmful content. No sexually explicit material, gratuitously violent or disturbing imagery, or other content unsuitable for a recovery space.
Glorifying relapse. No content that encourages, romanticizes, or pressures others to start using again. Talking honestly about a slip-up to seek support is welcome; cheering relapse on is not.
Encouraging self-harm. No content that promotes, encourages, or provides instructions for self-harm, suicide, or harm to others.
Illegal content. Nothing unlawful, and no encouraging others to break the law.
Impersonation and deception. No pretending to be someone else or misleading the community.
Respect everyone's anonymity
Snusfri is built around pseudonymous usernames — chosen
handles, not real names. Many members value the privacy this gives them. Please
protect it:
Don't try to uncover, guess at, or reveal another member's real-world identity.
Don't share screenshots, photos, or details that could expose who someone is.
Be thoughtful about your own privacy too — only share what you're comfortable making visible to other signed-in members.
How moderation works
We rely on the community to help keep this space healthy, and we give you tools
to do that.
Report objectionable content
If you see a post, comment, or image that breaks these guidelines, please report
it. Reporting is quick and helps us act on problems faster.
Block other users
You can block any member at any time. Once blocked, you won't see their content
and they won't be able to interact with you.
Automatic hiding
Content that is reported by multiple members is automatically hidden
from the community while it is reviewed. This helps remove harmful content quickly,
even before a person looks at it.
We do not tolerate abusive content or abusive users. Reports are taken seriously,
and we aim to handle them promptly and fairly.
Consequences
When these guidelines are broken, the Snusfri team may take one or more of the
following actions, depending on how serious or repeated the behavior is:
Content removal — the offending post, comment, or image is taken down.
Warnings — a reminder of the guidelines and a chance to put things right.
Suspension — temporary loss of access to community features.
Permanent ban — removal from the community for serious or repeated violations.
Serious violations — such as threats, hate, sharing others' private
information, or content encouraging self-harm — may result in an immediate
ban without warning.
If you are in crisis
Snusfri is a support community, not an emergency or medical service, and we
cannot provide crisis help. If you or someone else may be in danger, or you are
having thoughts of self-harm or suicide, please reach out for real help right
away:
Call your local emergency number immediately if there is an urgent risk to life (for example, 112 in Norway and Sweden).
Contact a doctor, nurse, or other health professional for support with your health or recovery.
Reach out to a local helpline or mental-health service in your country.
You deserve support, and asking for help is a sign of strength. Please don't
wait.
Questions or concerns
If you have a question about these guidelines, want to appeal a moderation
decision, or need to report something you can't report in the app, contact the
Snusfri team at
support@snusfri.appplaceholder — replace with a real support address before launch.
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. When we make
meaningful changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
