Snusfri — quit-addiction recovery support app
Effective date / last updated: 14 June 2026
These Terms of Service and End User License Agreement (together, the "Terms") form a legal agreement between you ("you" or "user") and the Snusfri team ("Snusfri", "we", "us", or "our") regarding your use of the Snusfri mobile application and related services (the "App"). Please read them carefully.
Snusfri is a motivational recovery support app that helps people quit snus and nicotine pouches, as well as cigarettes and alcohol, by tracking progress and offering encouragement and a community. Snusfri is not a medical product and does not provide medical treatment or advice (see the Health disclaimer).
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy (placeholder). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Your use of the App is also subject to the Apple App Store Terms of Service and Apple's standard End User License Agreement for licensed applications. Where those Apple terms conflict with these Terms, the Apple terms apply to the extent of the conflict for App Store usage.
The App references nicotine and alcohol and is intended for adults. You must be at least 17 years old to download or use the App. The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow their use of the App.
By using the App you confirm that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download and use one copy of the App on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may not:
The App, including its design, text, graphics, and software, is owned by the Snusfri team or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.
To use most features you must create an account using an email address, a password, and a self-chosen pseudonymous username (a handle, not your real name). You are responsible for:
We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorized use of your account that results from your failure to keep your credentials secure. You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Delete account), which permanently removes your account and associated data, as described in our Privacy Policy.
The App includes community features (posts, comments, reactions, and optional images) that are visible to other signed-in users and shown together with your pseudonymous username and current streak. To keep the community safe and supportive, you agree not to create, post, upload, or share content, or behave in ways, that:
You are solely responsible for the content you submit and for your interactions with other users. We do not endorse and are not responsible for content posted by users.
You retain ownership of the content you create and submit through the App ("Your Content"), including posts, comments, and images.
By submitting Your Content, you grant the Snusfri team a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute Your Content solely for the purpose of operating, providing, and improving the App — for example, showing your community posts to other signed-in users. This license lasts only as long as needed to provide the App and ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, except for content others have already shared or copies retained as required by law or for backup for a limited period.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to submit Your Content and to grant this license, and that Your Content does not violate these Terms or any law.
We may, but are not obligated to, review, screen, or monitor content. We may remove or restrict access to any content, at our discretion, that we believe violates these Terms or may harm users, the App, or third parties.
We do not tolerate abusive or objectionable content or users. Within the community features you can:
Content that receives multiple reports may be automatically hidden pending review. We aim to act on reports of objectionable content promptly, and we may remove content, hide it, or suspend or terminate the accounts of users who violate these rules. This commitment supports a moderation process consistent with App Store requirements for user-generated content.
Snusfri is a motivational support and self-tracking tool only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
The information, tracking, statistics, and community content in the App are for general motivational and informational purposes and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Quitting nicotine or alcohol can have physical and psychological effects.
Always seek the advice of your doctor or another qualified health provider with any questions you may have about withdrawal, your health, or a medical condition. If you experience severe withdrawal symptoms, a medical emergency, or thoughts of self-harm, contact a healthcare professional or your local emergency services immediately. Never disregard or delay professional medical advice because of something you read or experienced in the App.
Paid plans are not active yet. The App is currently available without paid subscriptions. We may introduce optional paid subscriptions in a future update.
If and when paid subscriptions become available, they will be processed by Apple and billed to your Apple Account. At that time:
We will update these Terms and the in-App disclosures with the specific subscription details before any paid plans go live.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that it will meet your requirements or achieve any particular result, including helping you quit or stay free of any substance.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Snusfri team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the App, your reliance on any content, or your interactions with other users.
To the extent we are found liable, our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to these Terms or the App is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to us for the App in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the liability, or (b) the equivalent of EUR 50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
You may stop using the App at any time and may delete your account from within the App (Profile → Delete account).
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App, or remove your content, at any time if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if necessary to protect the App or its users. Where reasonable and lawful, we will try to give you notice.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including the license you grant for content already shared, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law — will continue to apply after termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the App will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts, unless mandatory law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect new features, legal requirements, or the launch of paid subscriptions. When we make material changes, we will update the "last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App. Your continued use of the App after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the App and delete your account.
